Trading
Our Steel Trading Group (STG) primarily focuses on import of flat steel products. It is one of the leading suppliers of steel to the transformer and automotive industries in India, sourcing the bulk of its steel from mills in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. STG has evolved from being indenting agents to a value provider for its customers in the steel supply chain and offers services such as sourcing, warehousing, financing and logistics.

We are a joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra (51%), Sanyo Special Steel Co. Ltd (29%) and Mitsui & Co. Ltd (20%). Mahindra Accelo is a pioneer in the steel processing industry, with many industry first’s to its credit – in 1993, we became the specialist steel processor in the organised sector in India, and in 2007, when we established India’s first independent automotive facility for blanked skin panels – apart from a history of innovations in steel and steel processing. We’ve also been global, in both, outlook and strategy. In 2005, we set up shop in the Middle East through a JV with Nippon Steel Corporation, Japan. In 2007, we forayed into profile blanks with the inauguration of its blanking facility at Nasik. In 2013, we signed a JVA with China Steel Global Trading Corp. and Mitsui & Co. (Asia Pacific) for setting up an auto steel processing facility at Chakan, Pune.
